There are 2 entry gates to Kanha, namely, Kisli and Mukki.
Chitvan is only 3.5kms from the Mukki gate. Just reach the Mukki gate, see the board of Chitvan asking you to head on a mud trail exactly opposite the Mukki gate. You will pass thru some beautiful meadows to begin with, and then before you realize, you will go past the core zone of Kanha National Park. Then you will cross a small but beautiful water stream at a distance of 3.5 kms from the Mukki gate, only then will you emerge into Chitvan.
The boundary of Chitvan on two sides touch the core zone of Kanha, the other side is valley overlooking the small but scenic hills of Kanha.
